London: Frustrated over Twitter's policy of blocking the accounts linked to the jihadist group, the Islamic State supporters have threatened to kill the social media site's employees, especially mentioning the name of its co-founder Jack Dorsey.

According to a report in the Guardian, the threat was posted in Arabic on an image-sharing site JustPaste.it, which showed Twitter co-founder Dorsey as target with concentric red circles on his face.

“Your virtual war on us will cause a real war on you,” the ISIS supporter group threatened.

Singling out Jack Dorsey, the ISIS supporter said that he along with other employees had “become a target for the soldiers of the Caliphate and supporters scattered among your midst!”

“You started this failed war … We told you from the beginning it’s not your war, but you didn’t get it and kept closing our accounts on Twitter, but we always come back. But when our lions come and take your breath, you will never come back to life,” the Guardian cited the ISIS supporter group's statement.

The threat by the IS-linked group was made as the Twitter has been suspending the accounts linked to the jihadist group that has carried out beheadings and summary executions across Iraq and Syria, and used Twitter to spread fear and propaganda by posting gruseome images and news about its brutal acts online.

Twitter has been very active in immediately blocking such accounts, citing that they violated the company's terms of service.

Last year in September too, an ISIS-linked group had threatened to kill Twitter staff over blocked accounts.

According to a news site named Vocativ, a series of threatening tweets were posted last year from an account with the twitter handle @DAWLAMOON. The tweets carried murder threats against Twitter's employees at its headquarters in Silicon Valley.

Twitter CEO Dick Costolo had also confirmed that after Twitter started deleting accounts of IS members, he and his employees received assassination calls.

Twitter has been active in deleting the jihadist-linked accounts, as the Islamic State militants use the social media site effectively enough to communicate instantly, spread propaganda and hate messages, and hence trap vulnerable young minds from across the globe into joining them.
