Moscow: A Mi-8 helicopter, which went missing
on Sunday in Russia`s trans-Baikal area near the border with
Mongolia, has been located and all the seven people, including
three crew members onboard, are safe.
The helicopter belonging to the Siberian branch of
Russia`s Emergencies Ministry was on forest watch mission,
State Run Vesti FM TV said.
For some undisclosed reasons the helicopter had to make
an emergency landing and it was not immediately clear whether
any one onboard required medical assistance, the report said.
The contact with the helicopter was lost at 12.45 Moscow
time (15. 15 hrs IST) and shortly after its four beacons
started sending distress signal, earlier reports quoted
Emergency Situations officials as saying.
