Kathmandu: Four days after a group of kidnapped Nepalis, along with other foreign citizens, were released in Iraq the Nepalese government Tuesday decided to dispatch a high level task force to Iraq to bring them back home safely, officials said.

A total of 44 foreign nationals, including a group of Nepali citizens, were held hostage last Tuesday by tribal groups in northern Iraq. They were released Friday.

Nepal`s Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey Tuesday formed a high level team to bring home those kidnapped.

Nepal has banned its migrant workers from going to Iraq and government officials estimate more than 2,000 Nepalis are still working there.
