Jakarta: A new eruption of Merapi
volcano caused chaos in its surrounding areas, with locals
trying to flee from the lava and the cloud of volcanic ashes
that has cast a shadow over Indonesia.

Fear, despair, and helplessness reigned in the vicinity
of mount Merapi, and even the police ran away, thus increasing
traffic jams and panic on the roads.

Predictions of future and stronger eruptions convinced
nearby people to leave the area, as well as the death of two
more people while rushing out, bringing the volcano death toll
this week to 38.

About 50,000 people have been evacuated. Geologists
affirmed that this new eruption was stronger and louder than
the one on Tuesday, lasted 22 minutes, and belched ashes at
3.5 kilometers high.
