Forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi used heavy artillery to bombard the Dafnia sector.
Benghazi: Nine people were killed
and 51 were wounded in fighting around the western
Libyan rebel-held city of Misrata, rebel officials said,
adding that the dead included both fighters and civilians.
Forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi used heavy artillery
to bombard the Dafnia sector at the western entrance to
Misrata, and rebels in the city retaliated, the officials said.
As a result "nine people were killed and 51 wounded,
both rebels and civilians," said the statement, adding that
several of the wounded were in critical condition.
The report could not immediately be verified, but
other rebel sources reported that heavy fighting was taking
place east and west of Misrata in the evening.
