New York: A New York City teacher has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a minor student at a motel in Long Island.
According to the police, Tara Driscoll, an English teacher at the Campus Magnet high school, has been accused of having sex session with the unidentified student on March 19 at the Capri Motel in Lynbrook, Nassau.
The under 17 boy was a student of the same school, but it’s not clear if Driscoll taught him, reports the New York Daily News.
After knowing about the encounter, the victim’s mother reportedly called in the cops.
Driscoll, who has surrendered to special victims investigators, has been facing charges of rape and criminal sexual act.
According to the city Education Department, the 33-year-old, though not fired, has been reassigned out of the classroom.
