US President Barack Obama will meet King Abdullah II of Jordan at the White House next week, officials have said.

Washington: US President Barack Obama will meet King Abdullah II of Jordan at the White House next week, officials have said.

During the meeting at the White House on May 17, Obama looks forward to discussing with King Abdullah latest regional developments, ways to cooperate on political and economic
reforms, and ways to deepen their partnership with Jordan on a wide variety of issues in the bilateral relationship, the White House statement said.

"The President also welcomes continuing consultations with King Abdullah on the pursuit of a comprehensive peace in the Middle East," the statement said.
