United States President Barack Obama has said that Afghanistan will no longer "be a source of terrorist attacks", a week before the US is set to withdraw its troops and ends its combat mission in the country.

Washington: United States President Barack Obama has said that Afghanistan will no longer "be a source of terrorist attacks", a week before the US is set to withdraw its troops and ends its combat mission in the country.

Obama said that they had been in war for more than 13 years and next year the combat mission in Afghanistan would end, reported Fox News.

He also said that Afghanistan had a chance of rebuilding the nations with the service of the people in the armed forces.

Some American troops have been scheduled to stay in Afghanistan until the end of 2016, though, the combat mission is nearly over.
