Obama`s Los Angeles campaign office attacked
The attack came ahead of Barack Obama’s visit to the city during a presidential campaign swing through California.
Washington: US President Barack Obama’s Westside Los Angeles campaign offices were targeted with BB air gun shots on Friday.
The projectiles are named ‘BBs’ after a bird shot pallet of approximately the same size.
These projectiles are usually spherical in shape but can also be pointed.
The attack came ahead of Obama’s visit to the city during a presidential campaign swing through California.
The attack shattered the glass windows of the office, Politico reports.
The Los Angeles Police Department(LAPD) said an “unknown object” was thrown into Obama’s office at about 7:25 pm local time.
“Bricks, stones — you know, that’s what we call unknown objects. We’re not sure exactly what the object was,” LAPD spokesperson Gregory Beck said.
The person who reported the incident to the police heard “glass breaking and noticed that the windows were broken,” he added.
The LAPD had only scarce details of the attack.
“There’s been no associated threat or indication that this was anything other than vandalism,” LAPD spokesman Lt. Andy Neiman said
“We’re aware of the incident. The investigation is being conducted by LAPD, and we will continue to monitoring the incident along with local law enforcement,” Secret Service spokesperson Max Milien said.
