Obamas to host 2nd state dinner under ‘heavy security’

The Obamas will host the second state dinner for Mexican President.

Washington: The Obamas will host the second state dinner on Wednesday for Mexican President Felipe Calderon under heavy security, especially after the first state dinner last year was gate crashed by three uninvited guests, it has emerged.

A new social secretary will be running the affair, and the Secret Service will be on guard for the black-tie event, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Mexican First Lady Margarita Zavala will join Calderon at the dinner.
Ed Donovan, a Secret Service spokesman, refused to comment if the security will be tighter than last year’s – when the gate crashers — Virginia socialites Tareq and Michaele Salahi, and an unidentified man showed up at the state dinner sans invitations.
