Osama was a keen follower of Arsenal FC London: Despite claiming to hate everything the West stood for, Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was a keen follower of the British Premier League club Arsenal.

According to the Scotsman, bin Laden once sought asylum in Britain. Former Home Secretary Michael Howard, who said the inquiry was made in 1995, revealed this.

Bin Laden, however, never got a chance to make a formal application after Home Office officials issued an immediate banning order.

Though there was no evidence of him visiting Arsenal’s former ground, Highbury, he was believed to have started supporting the club while on a European tour in the 1970s.

He was said to have visited London in 1994, staying for a few months in Wembley establishing the committee.
