PetroChina says refinery fire in Dalian put out Shanghai: PetroChina reports that a fire that broke out early Monday at its refinery in the northeastern Chinese city of Dalian has been extinguished, with no injuries.

It was the second fire following one in July. The refinery was due to restart operations this week. State-owned PetroChina, China's biggest oil and gas producer, said the fire occurred in a diesel tank containing 800 tons of fuel, but any that escaped had been channelled into an emergency storage pool.

The fire's cause is under investigation.

Dalian was the site of China's biggest known oil spill, when a pipeline explosion put at least 1,500 tons (461,790 gallons) of oil into the sea in July 2010.
