Jerusalem: Recent pictures of Kurdish fighters` bodies seem to suggest that Islamic State (IS) fighters used chemical weapons in the Syrian town of Kobani which is under a serious threat of falling under IS control.
According to the Jerusalem Post, IS extremists had reportedly unleashed chemical agent on Kurdish fighters earlier in July.
The health minister of the Kurdish authority in Kobani Nisan Ahmed said that the bodies of three Kurdish fighters killed in battles with IS were not damaged by bullets but were marked by white spots and burns without external bleeding or visible wounds.
According to expert Israeli sources, the photos suggest that a chemical agent called mustard was probably used.
There were rumours that chemical weapons were obtained following IS` capture of the Muthana compound, 35 miles north of western Iraq.
