Plane with 163 people overshoots runway in Russia

A Tu-154M airliner with 163 people on board overshot the runway while landing at an airport in north Russia.

Moscow: A Tu-154M airliner with 163 people on board overshot the runway while landing at an airport in north Russia, RIA Novosti reported.

The incident took place at the Yugra airport in Yamalo-Nenets district Tuesday.

None of the 152 passengers and 11 crew members were injured as the plane rolled 15 metres past the end of the runway.
A probe into the incident has been opened. It was not known how the incident occurred.

The plane flew in from Gomel, Belarus.
