Kathmandu: Maoist supremo Prachanda has
ordered the mobilization of the party's aggressive youth wing
YCL to exert pressure on the ruling alliance to pave the way
for forming a Maoist-led national government in Nepal.
Prachanda issued such a directive during the central
level meeting of the party's controversial youth wing Young
Communist League held in the capital yesterday.
Claiming that conspiracy is being hatched for foiling
the task of drafting a pro-people constitution and to
establish lasting peace in the country, Prachanda asked the
party's youth wing to remain vigil.
It came at a time when major ruling parties including
Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have asking the Maoists to
dissolve its paramilitary organisations to improve law and
order situation in the country.
The Maoists' youth wing will mobilise its full time
cadres throughout the country till May 28, the deadline of
promulgating the new constitution, according to the YCL's
Kathmandu valley in-charge Chandra Bahadur Thapa.
He has even warned to launch agitation if efforts to
draft a pro-people constitution are foiled. The Maoists were
trying to draft a statute in which there will be limited
competition among those political parties which are neither
close to colonial forces nor expansionist forces.
