Bogota: Pregnant with cocaine! A 28-year old woman from Canada was held at Bogota airport for trying to smuggle cocaine which she hid within a fake baby bump, reports said Thursday.
The Canadian national was arrested for having stuffed cocaine in a fake latex belly at Bogota International Airport while she was about to board a flight to Toronto, reported the BBC.
The woman, seemingly pregnant caught a policewoman`s attention and responded aggressively when asked how long she had been pregnant.
This added to the suspicion and led the security official to search her.
The suspect`s search resulted in recovery of 2 Kg of cocaine, packed in two sealed bags within her fake bump.
"[The Canadian] didn`t like the question, which made the official suspicious. Instinctively, she then very delicately touched the lady`s belly, realising it was too hard and extremely cold," the BBC quoted said a top official from Colombia`s anti-narcotic department.
According to the Colombian police, the cost of drug recovered would be around $60,000.
