London: An Australian man and his ladylove turned a major internet hit when their private moment on a hill top was accidentally caught with the man professing his love by getting down on one knee.

It all occurred after a stranger taking photos of the glorious sunrise over Sydney`s Bondi Beach accidentally captured the proposal on camera and posted the pictures online, Daily Mail reported.

The couple were astonished to discover that their private moment in Sydney had been shared with the world.

Realising what had taken place between the two distant figures seen on a cliff overlooking the Pacific, the photographer posted the shots on Reddit along with the caption: "Accidentally captured a sunrise wedding proposal this morning at Bondi Beach in Sydney."

The loving snaps of the couple`s magical moment -- played out against the stunning backdrop of the sun rising over the world-famous beach -- became a viral hit, and fans of the images set about trying to identify the mystery man and his inamorata.

The pair caught on camera turned out to be professional photographers Steven McConnell and fiancee Irene Kotov.

The first photograph shows McConnell and Kotov facing one another beneath a blazing orange sky on a clifftop overlooking the water, while a second shows McConnell down on one knee.

The third and final image shows the happy couple embracing after Kotov gave McConnell the "yes" he was hoping for.

McConnell, 32, described discovering the photos of his proposal online as "completely unreal".

He said: "The funny thing about it is I really wanted this to be a private moment."
