Respect Ramadan or be expelled: S Arabia to non-Muslims Zeenews Bureau

Riyadh: Non-Muslim expatriates in Saudi Arabia have been warned against eating, drinking or smoking in public during Ramadan if they do not want to face expulsion.

Ramadan is the month-long sunrise-to-sunset fast.

The Interior Ministry of the oil-rich kingdom is calling on non-Muslims to "show consideration for feelings of Muslims" and "preserve the sacred Islamic rituals”.

Otherwise, a statement says, Saudi authorities will cancel violators' work contracts and expel them.

The warning came on Friday, the first day of the Ramadan observance.

In addition to Saudi Arabia's 19 million citizens, there are nearly eight million Asian workers in the country, as well as hundreds of thousands of other foreign expatriates from around the globe, according to government figures.

Saudi Arabia, the ultraconservative Sunni kingdom, is the home of Islam's holiest sites. It enforces a strict interpretation of the religion.

India should impose a ban on faltu azans by muslims mosqes its a foreign religion thats hurts hindus sentiments saudi is for muslims and india is for hindus so islam the most radical religion should b ban in india. Hindus dont likes it. Muslims thinks this world is only their and they will capture the whole earth by terrorism but they should know that agar hum hindustani apni jat par a jaye na toh islam ko bhagne ka raste nehi milega. terrorists.

My dear Shri Harkadass Wasson Ji respectfullyIbeg your pardon to say that ALLAH IS ALMIGHTY and is belong to all of us even if it is called by different names by different people. So,please do not say ``your Allah`` but say ``Allah``. Islam disregards forefull impositions of Islamic beliefes on Non-Muslims.The Kingdom, in my openion,is not intended to force the observace of fast but to respect Ramadam Month(by not eating, drinking or smoking in Public) by Non-Muslims.In our Hindustan also Majority of Their Holliness Hindus(Their Holliness Cristians,Their Holliness Sikhs and so on) respect the Muslims when they are observing fast.

It`s month of sacrifice. If you are so weak that you can`t see a person eating during your fast. It` better you don`t do this drama. Your reasoning is BS.

idiot, religion is limited to individual only. you can`t decide on what other should do. Still if you love your so called peaceful religion so much go to saudi and live there. Then only you will realize the democratic and secular values.

It is better all non-Muslims come out of that place. It looks like they will be killed since they are not Muslims.

I believe this step is carried on since ages in saudi Arabia.... Co-operating in such religious sentiments helps strengthen the ties between Muslims n non Muslims globally
