A UK website has carried out a research to find out the ten most popular footballers in 2013 across social media platforms and Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the list.

London: A UK website has carried out a research to find out the ten most popular footballers in 2013 across social media platforms and Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the list.
According to the Mirror, Ronaldo gained 20 million fans across five networks.
Second was Barcelona player Neymar Jr., who got 8 million new Facebook fans, more than his teammates Andreas Iniesta and Carles Puyol combined.
Even after retirement, England football legend David Beckham was placed third, gaining twice as many followers in China than anyone else in 2013.
Gareth Bale, Lionel Messi, Mesut Ozil, Ronaldinho, Wayne Rooney, Kaka and Robin Van Persie make up the other seven players in the list.
