Romney could be richest man to live in White House
A new study says Mitt Romney is worth a whopping USD 230 million, which vastly overshadows the worth of current US President Barack Obama.
Washington: Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will be the richest man ever to live in the White House if he wins the US Presidential Elections in November.
According to a new study, the former Massachusetts governor is worth a whopping USD 230 million, which vastly overshadows the worth of current US President Barack Obama and would be by far the wealthiest man ever to call the White House home.
According to the study revealed by Politico, Romney’s money is spread among a series of holdings but he owns very few stocks.
Romney, who is estimated to have made about USD 23 million off mutual funds, has also another USD 18 million invested in real estate.
The study showed that he reportedly owns a USD 8 million lake house in New Hampshire, an USD 800,000 town house outside Boston, and is also currently renovating his family’s crown jewel, a USD 12 million beach house near San Diego.
The last two times, between 2007 and 2011, when the GOP presidential candidate disclosed his financial records, he sold more than USD 6 million in stock, including from heavyweight companies like Google, Apple and JP Morgan.
