Moscow: Russia on Wednesday said it favours the
resumption of parleys between Iran and the group of six
international mediators on Tehran`s controversial nuclear
programme.

"We would welcome it if Tehran handed over to the
office of the EU`s High Representative for Foreign Affairs an
official communication to restart dialogue with the Six (UNSC
P-5 and Germany)," Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei
Nesterenko declared.

Talks between Tehran and the Iran-6 comprising the
China, France, Germany, Russia, US, UK, Iran collapsed in
2009, after an IAEA resolution condemned the Islamic Republic
over the construction of a second uranium enrichment facility.
On Sunday last Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
said his country was ready for a new round of talks but only
on a number of conditions, including a comment by the Iran Six
on Israel`s nuclear capability.
