Kiev: EU-brokered gas talks between Moscow and Kiev broke up on Monday without an agreement and Russia will halt its supplies if Ukraine fails to make a $1.95 billion payment by 0600 GMT, a Gazprom official told AFP.
"We reached no agreement and the chances that we meet again are slim -- we are already on the plane heading back (to Moscow)," the Russian gas company`s official spokesman Sergei Kuprianov said by telephone. "If we receive no pre-payment by 10:00 am (0600GMT), then we obviously will deliver no gas."
