Beijing: A Saudi Arabian student in China was on Friday sentenced to five years in prison for attempted rape.
Alsubaie Bader Fahad, a Chinese language student at a university in Hunan Province, will be deported after serving the jail term, the Furong District People`s Court said in its verdict.
The 22-year-old tried to rape a 38-year-old woman near a commercial square in April while he was reportedly drunk, state-run Xinhua reported.
Fahad had molested the woman at a restaurant earlier and continued to pursue her after she ran out of the eatery.
He was caught by police after passersby stopped his attempt to rape the woman, the court said.
