Seattle: The 26-year-old shooting suspect Aaron Ybarra was reportedly fascinated with school shootings and wanted to kill as many people as possible during the attack at Seattle Pacific University earlier this week.
The suspect admitted to attack and told police that he wanted to “shoot up a school”, as per CNN news report.
Ybarra`s attorney, Public Defender Ramona Brandes, defended him in the court and said that he suffers from mental illness and has undergone treatment for the same.
Referring to the attack, she also added that he regrets his actions.
The attack took place on Thursday after Ybarra walked into the campus and shot three students.
He was tackled by a student as he paused to reload his gun and then subdued with pepper spray.
The shooter, who is not a student of the university, reportedly had around 50 additional shotgun shells and a hunting knife at the time of attack.
