Shiite mourners mass in Saudi Arabia for bomb victim

Tarut: Thousands of Shiites took to the streets of eastern Saudi Arabia to remember the latest victim of the country's deadliest terrorist bombing in years and to denounce attacks on their community.

The funeral in Tarut today was for Mansour Fateel, who mourners said died from his wounds the previous day after being seriously injured in a suicide bombing attack at a Shiite mosque in the village of al-Qudeeh on May 22.

His death brings to 22 the number of people killed in that attack.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for that blast and another yesterday outside a Shiite mosque in nearby Dammam that authorities say killed four.

An Associated Press journalist in Tarut said mourners carried banners denouncing sectarianism and the IS group, which considers Shiites to be heretics.
