Seoul: South Korea`s government website had come under a massive attack from hackers traced to China, the Home Ministry said on Thursday.

The site (, which provides civil services and information on government policies, suffered access delays and failures for nearly four hours on Wednesday evening until midnight due to what is known as distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, the ministry said.

The attacks came from about 120 China-based Internet servers, it added.
