N`djamena: Suspected militants from the Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram killed 26 people in attacks on two villages on Lake Chad, local authorities in Chad told Reuters on Wednesday.

Boko Haram has stepped up its attacks in recent weeks killing hundreds of people despite losing territory in northeastern Nigeria earlier in the year to a regional offensive in which Chad was a leading member.
