Terror suspect charged in Germany

The man is accused of supporting terrorism and recruiting members for extremist Muslim groups.

Berlin: German prosecutors have pressed
charges against a 25-year-old man accused of supporting
terrorism and recruiting members for extremist Muslim groups.

The Federal Prosecutor`s office said today the stateless
man of Palestinian background, who was identified only as
Hussam S, posted videos, audio and texts on the Internet
praising jihad, or holy war.

It says the man published seven videos of attacks and
beheadings to support terrorism by several Islamist groups
from September 2007 to December 2009 and posted 78 online
messages trying to recruit members for al-Qaida and other
terror groups.

The prosecutor`s office said he was arrested on July 4,
2010, in Montabaur and will go on trial at a court in Koblenz
in southwestern Germany.
