Moscow: Russia`s top security official
on Wednesday said the terrorists active in the post-Soviet nations
are trying to obtain nuclear, biological and chemical
material for terror strikes.
"We posses information indicating that the terrorists
are trying to gain access to nuclear, biological and chemical
components," FSB security chief Gen Alexander Bortnikov said
in his televised remarks.

Speaking after the CIS security agencies` conference
in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg Gen Bortnikov said: "We are
constantly paying attention to this problem."

He said that as a result of joint inter-agency
operations several terror attempts were foiled in the former
Soviet republics, now members of the Commonwealth of
Independent States (CIS).
"Last year, we managed to intercept a supply channel
of 15 kilogrammes of TNT and hexogen in to Moscow and detain
an agent who planned to carry out 12 terrorist attacks in the
Russian capital, who has been charged for attempting to
carryout a string of terror attacks."
