Phnon Penh: Thailand`s fugitive former
premier Thaksin Shinawatra arrived in Cambodia`s capital
today, a news agency reporter said, in a trip likely to set off new
diplomatic ructions between the two nations.

Thaksin landed in a small private aircraft at Phnom
Penh International Airport before being escorted away in
convoy under tight security, a reporter of a news agency present at the scene said.

The tycoon former leader is expected to visit a Thai
man jailed for spying on him last month.

Cambodia enraged Thailand last month when it refused
to extradite Thaksin during his last visit to the country to
take up an economic advisory role with the government.
