Three Americans arrested in Cairo back in US St Louis: All three American students arrested during protests in Cairo are back in the US, three days after an Egyptian court ordered their release.

The young men were arrested last Sunday on the roof of a university building near Cairo's iconic Tahrir Square. Officials accused the trio of throwing firebombs at security forces fighting with protesters.

The mother of 19-year-old Derrik Sweeney says she spoke with her son when he landed in Washington late Saturday before he boarded a flight to St Louis.

Nineteen-year-old Gregory Porter was greeted by his parents and other relatives when his flight landed in Philadelphia.

An Indiana University spokesman says 21-year-old Luke Gates arrived in the US on a flight on Saturday but declined to provide details, saying Gates' parents are hoping for privacy. Gates attends the university.
