Washington: Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump has had plenty of controversial and outrageous quotes during his 2016 US presidential campaign.
Trump, the tycoon and onetime reality television star, has been the surprise leader of the Republican presidential race.
Here are some of his controversial comments which made headlines:
“I was 100 percent right. Everybody admits that worldwide, the Muslims were absolutely going wild to cheer the September 11, 2001 attacks. I watched when the World Trade Center came tumbling down. And I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down. Thousands of people were cheering.”
“Libya is a catastrophe. Libya is a disaster. Iraq is the Harvard of terrorism. Syria is a disaster. The whole Middle East. It all blew up around Hillary Clinton and around Obama. It blew up.”
“My plan for combating Islamic State militants involves targeting not just the group's (ISIS) fighters but also their families. When you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families. They care about their lives, don't kid yourselves.”
“President Barack Obama doesn`t know what he`s doing. I would knock the hell out of ISIS.”
