Turkey bombs IS positions in Syria: Turkish PM

Three Turkish fighter jets bombed several positions held by the Islamic State group in Syria early Friday, Turkey`s premier said, the second day of cross-border fighting after a drastic escalation of tensions between Ankara and the extremists.

Istanbul: Three Turkish fighter jets bombed several positions held by the Islamic State group in Syria early Friday, Turkey`s premier said, the second day of cross-border fighting after a drastic escalation of tensions between Ankara and the extremists.

The attacks, carried out shortly before 4:00 am (0100 GMT), destroyed three IS positions, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu`s office added in a statement.
