Istanbul: The Turkish truck drivers seized in June by Islamist militants in northern Iraq are set to be released and are on their way to Turkey, reports and one of the drivers said.

"We are not free at the moment but we are on our way to Turkey. We expect to be on the border by the evening," Mustafa Tezdoner, one of the 31 truck drivers kidnapped by militants from the jihadist group the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) told Turkey`s NTV television.
The Dogan news agency had reported earlier that the hostages were being released. The Turkish foreign ministry declined to confirm the release but said there were "positive developments".
