Istanbul: An Istanbul court on Friday jailed Turkish opposition journalists Can Dundar and Erdem Gul for five years 10 months and five years respectively, media reported, in a trial that has become a lightning rod for concerns about eroding press freedoms in Turkey.

The two men were acquitted of espionage but were found guilty on hugely controversial charges of revealing state secrets, television stations reported.
