Ukraine, Iran sign agreement on An-158 planes

Ukraine and Iran have signed an agreement on the purchase of An-158 planes.

Kiev: Ukraine and Iran have signed an
agreement on the purchase of An-158 planes, Dmitro Kiva,
chairman of the Antonov Aerospace Company said here on Friday.

"We signed the agreement with Iran on the production and
purchase of An-158 planes, specialists are being trained," he
told a news conference on the sidelines of the aerospace show
Aviamir 21.

He underlined that the talk was about cooperation in civil
aviation.

The talk "is about passenger planes that are used for
civil purposes."

Kiva noted that the plane continues certification tests.
The Iranian side plans to activate the project on
assembling An-140 planes at aircraft-making enterprise Hesa in
Isfahan.

Ten such planes have already been assembled there.
