Moscow: Ukraine's apex court on Wednesday
suspended the official results of Presidential polls won by
Viktor Yanukovych until it finishes hearing a case challenging
the polls by his rival Yulia Tymoshenko.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko had yesterday
challenged the poll results in which she was defeated by a
narrow margin of 3.48 per cent votes.
Ukraine's Supreme Administrative Court has to examine,
'multiple cases of ballot rigging' and give its verdict in two
days, UNIAN agnecy said.
Tymoshenko refused to concede defeat, accusing her
rival of fraud although the international monitors said the
election was fair and Yanukovych has been congratulated by
governments around the world, including Russia and the United
States.
Tymoshenko, who is on the verge of losing her prime
ministerial job due the formation of a new coalition in the
Verkhovna Rada (Parliament), wants use her last chance to
overturn the results.
The Parliament had yesterday voted to hold
Yanukovych's inauguration on February 25.
The MPs of Tymoshenko Bloc told the house that the
2010 budget has not been adopted by it, so there were no funds
for the inauguration ceremony.
