UN chief to visit Australia next month

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is expected to visit Australia next month after his tour to the region for the Pacific Islands Forum meeting in New Zealand.

Ban Ki-moon is expected to visit Australia next month after his tour to the region for the Pacific Islands Forum meeting in New Zealand.

Ban will brief Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Foreign
Minister Kevin Rudd on international security, development and
climate change issues, ABC reported today.

He will also discuss the unfolding developments in the
Middle East and North Africa.

Ban will be the first UN chief to attend the meeting of
Pacific Islands Forum in New Zealand.
