Washington: US Deputy Secretary of State
James Steinberg will visit China and Japan for talks on
international and bilateral issues, the State Department
announced late on Monday.
Steinberg will depart for Beijing on Monday and will
exchange views with Chinese officials on US-China bilateral
issues in Beijing March 2-4, the statement said.
In Tokyo, he will meet with senior officials March
4-5 to discuss a wide range of bilateral, regional, and global
matters.
Steinberg will be accompanied by Senior Director for
the National Security Council for Asian Affairs Jeffrey Bader,
the department said.
