Washington: US President Barack Obama made an announced trip to a bar in Amherst, Ohio, where a customer challenged him to a physical duel in exchange for a vote, and he declined.

On the first day of his two-day bus tour through Ohio and Pennsylvania, Obama talked with patrons of Ziggy’s Pub and Restaurant.

At the bar, the President drank from a bottle of Bud Light while greeting bar customers, CBS News reported.

One customer, named Jeff Hawks, offered an arm-wrestle challenge to Obama for a vote.

“I’ll arm-wrestle you for your vote,” Hawks told the President, according to the pool reporter in the room.

Obama denied but counter-offered with a game the President plays regularly.

“No, I’ll play basketball for your vote,” Obama said.

When Hawks pointed out that he visited a bar that is playing Fox News, the President told the man that he should ask for the channel to be changed, adding that “The customer is always right”.

The President then proceeded to his next step in Parma, Ohio where he “couldn’t be prouder of the work we have done” in health care.
