Sydney: Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai has said that the US-led `war on terror` has not been a happy one and has perhaps increased `radicalism` in the Muslim world.

Karzai while addressing the US-Islamic World Forum said that since the war on terror began in 2001, the Muslim world has been in a constant state of `turmoil` from Pakistan to Nigeria, reports News.com.au.

According to the report, Karzai questioned whether the war on terrorism has brought less radicalism to the Muslim world or has increased it.

He said that US needs to give explanations to the Muslim world about the things that have gone wrong and must take actions to correct them.
Karzai said that Muslim societies and the government need to correct themselves and become more tolerant to rest of the world and other religions, yet US and other Western countries need to give explanations, the report added.
