US urges North Korea to stop provocative actions

Washington: The United States has urged North Korea to refrain from taking provocative actions following the North`s test-firing of a short-range missile off its coast last week.
"We would just urge North Korea to exercise restraint," State Department spokesman Mark Toner told a daily briefing yesterday.
He declined to confirm the launch of the missile.
"We`ve seen these kinds of tests before," Toner said, adding the US government will continue to monitor the situation.
A South Korean government source yesterday said North Korea test-fired a KN-06 short-range missile off its west coast in the middle of last week.
