Venezuela declares state of emergency on Colombia border

Venezuela`s President Nicolas Maduro declared a state of emergency Friday in part of the Colombia border region, ordering a closure until Sunday following an attack in which four people were wounded.

Caracas: Venezuela`s President Nicolas Maduro declared a state of emergency Friday in part of the Colombia border region, ordering a closure until Sunday following an attack in which four people were wounded.

"As part of measures to restore order, peace, tranquility and justice... I have decided to declare a state of emergency" in several municipalities of eastern Tachira state, Maduro said in a broadcast address.
