Hanoi: A friendly meeting on
the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Cuban revolution
was held in the northern district of Moc Chau in Vietnam as an
example of bilateral solidarity.
About 35 years ago, after the US defeat, Cuba sent a
group of dairy cows to that region, and their descendents are
still among the cattle in local dairies.
In the emotive, simple act, the president of the
provincial government Hoang Chi Thuc referred to the close
links between Vietnam and Cuba.
Thuc expressed Vietnam's support for the release of
the five Cuban anti-terrorists unfairly imprisoned in the US:
Fernando Gonzalez, Rene Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon
Labanino, and Antonio Guerrero.
The official also reminded of the visits Cuban leader
Fidel Castro made to Vietnam, amid the fight against the US
aggression, when he affirmed Cuba was willing to give its own
blood.
Cuban Ambassador in Vietnam Fredesman Turro highly
praised bilateral teamwork in all spheres, and the district
constant development in such sectors as livestock.
When referring to the new anniversary of the Cuban
Revolution, the diplomat referred to its development since
January 1, 1959, and the battle the Cuban people have waged to
improve the process, amid difficulties.
