Cairo: Resting aside fraud claims, the Election Commission of Egypt has declared that the new constitution has been passed with approximately 63.8% support.
The result of the two round referendums has tallied with what the Muslim brotherhood had claimed. The opposition had demanded an inquiry accusing Mohammed Mursi and his supporters of irregularities in the process.
Samir Abu el-Matti of the Supreme Election Committee made it clear that the results were meticulously investigated and no fraud took place.
