Ottawa: In a breathtaking video, smashing all previous records, 164 skydivers flying head-down formed the largest ever vertical skydiving formation on Friday over central Illinois here.

The video, which has gone viral on the internet, shows that the Skydivers were travelling at the speed of 240 mph.

The vertical formation formed by the skydivers has hit a new world record beating the 2012 mark set by 138 skydivers.

The formation, resembling a giant flower, floated above the rural drop zone in Ottawa for a few seconds before the flyers broke away, opened their parachutes, and whooped and hollered their way to the ground to the jubilation of spectators.
