WikiLeaks founder to write columns in Sweden

Stockholm: WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange
says he will write bimonthly columns for a left-leaning
Swedish newspaper.

Assange says his columns in tabloid Aftonbladet will give
perspective on the work of WikiLeaks, which has angered the
Pentagon by releasing thousands of classified Afghan war
documents.

One of Sweden`s biggest papers, Aftonbladet is considered
a strong voice for the left wing. It was harshly criticised by
Israel last year for an article that suggested Israeli troops
had harvested the organs of dead Palestinians.

Chief editor Jan Helin said today that Aftonbladet will
help WikiLeaks get a publishing certificate in Sweden, in a
move to take advantage of the country`s whistle-blower
protection laws. Assange has said WikiLeaks has servers in
Sweden.
