Earlier Darren Sammy picked the wicket of Neesham who hit one straight to Dhawan at short midwicket. Balls later, when Otago needed just one run to win, Nathan McCullum was run-out as he ran for a suicidal single. But all’s well that ends well and Otago have shown what a formidable side they are! Nathan McCullum 67* (39b) Derek de Boorder 1* (1b) ==================================================================================== Over 15 || Score 136/3 After surviving the stumping chance against Karan Sharma, Brendon McCullum slowed down the pace of his innings for some time as new batsman James Neesham played some magnificent aggressive strokes. Ishant Sharma was asked to bowl the fifteenth over where McCullum accelerated the pace once again and scored 22 runs from it. These two have now added 51 runs from just 25 balls. Otago now need just eight runs from the next five overs. ==================================================================================== Over 10 || Score 80/2 Brendon McCullum smashed Karan Sharma for two sixes in his second over and also survived a stumping chance trying to do the same as Parthiv Patel missed an easy chance. Dale Steyn was brought back in the tenth over and the pacer got his second wicket as Rutherford gloved one to the keeper. Otago have scored 33 runs in the last five overs. ==================================================================================== Over 5 || Score 47/1 The Otago Volts are off to a terrific start as their batsmen aren’t hesitating to charge down the wicket for some huge hits. Hyderabad got their first breakthrough when Broom charged down the wicket to Dale Steyn and edged one to the keeper. Brendon McCullum is at the crease with Rutherford who has played some lovely strokes so far. ==================================================================================== Sunrisers Hyderabad innings: Over 20 || Score 143/5 JP Duminy remained unbeaten on 57 as stitched a crucial 58-run partnership for the fifth wicket along with Darren Sammy (26) who was dismissed off the last ball of the innings. Their innings gained some momentum after Sammy went after Doeschate and clobbered two massive sixes in his 17th over which produced 21 runs. The fielding hasn’t been up to the mark from Otago players which has probably cost them at least 15-20 extra runs. ==================================================================================== Over 15 || Score 91/4 Hyderabad have added 33 runs in the last five overs. While Cameron White was dismissed after scoring 25 from 23 balls, JP Duminy is still there at the crease with Darren Sammy, who can change the course of a match with his late onslaught. Hyderabad have a lot of variety in their bowling and they should now look to score another 50 runs from the last five overs. ==================================================================================== Over 10 || Score 58/3 Hyderabad lost another wicket, this time of Samantry who hit one straight towards long on where Michael Bracewell took a well judged catch, the one where he caught the ball, threw it in as he lost balance and then came back to catch it cleanly. We haven’t seen much from Cameron White this series, and the big-hitting Aussie needs to play a crucial knock for Hyderabad today. ==================================================================================== Over 5 || Score 31/2 The Otagao Volts at the moment are in total control of the match after picking the wickets of both the in-form openers – Shikhar Dhawan and Parthiv Patel. Both the openers were scalped by Nathan McCullum, who has kept things tight so far. It is for the first time in the tournament that Hyderabad lost both their openers with just 25 runs on the board and it would be interesting to see their response from here onwards. ==================================================================================== Having won both their matches, Dhawan-led side would be full of confidence and they would want to enter the main stage with another victory. On the other hand, Otago Volts would too want to continue their rhythm as they too have qualified for the main stage.
