If owners caught betting, CSK must be annulled: Lalit Modi

Lalit Modi took to micro-blogging site Twitter to react to the revelations of the Justice Mukul Mudgal Committee report that indicted N Srinivasan`s son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan for his alleged involvement in IPL betting.

New Delhi: Sacked Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi on Monday, demanded a life ban of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President N Srinivasan and his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan after the Supreme Court-instituted Justice Mudgal committee indicting Meiyappan in the IPL betting and spot-fixing scandal. Lalit Modi took to micro-blogging site Twitter and first tweeted that he was glad to see the report and even added a 2.30 minutes video made on BCCI president N Srinivasan.

The Mudgal report also highlighted that there is a conflict of interest on Srinivasan holding the post of BCCI Chief and ownership of IPL franchisee, and that it is a serious issue and needs to be considered by court. In another tweet of Modi, he wrote about IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings.

Later, through his tweets, Modi kept attacking the CSK and N Srinivasan.

Modi also told PTI: "For CSK team to underperform, it would have required direct involvement of CSK boss N Srinivasan as most of the players in CSK are employees of India Cements and under direct influence and control of Srinivasan who can also make or break their career in BCCI itself". Lalit Modi went a step ahead while talking to a leading English news channel when he even took the name of Indian skipper MS Dhoni alleging that even Dhoni is involved in cover up and CSK must now be scrapped.
