New Delhi: Calling for a tough stand against Pakistan, the BJP Sunday asked the government not to talk to the neighbouring country until it ends skirmishes on the Line of Control and promises to not allow its land to be used for terror activities against India.

Addressing a meeting of the party`s election campaign committee here, Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh called for toughening of government`s stance against Pakistan. He said talks should not be held with Pakistan till it promises to stop skirmishes on the border and gives a solemn promise that its land will not be allowed to be used for terror activities against India. He said Pakistan had resorted to 18 ceasefire violations in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 10 days besides an ambush in which five Indian soldiers were killed. Rajnath Singh said that separatists had been instigated to ferment communal trouble in Kishtwar town of Jammu and Kashmir and effort was being made to push in infiltrators. Manmohan Singh had said in his Independence Day address that Pakistan must end all anti-India activity if it desired friendship with India. IANS
